STHS Wellness Center
Hello, and welcome to the STHS Wellness Center! We are here to support the mental health and wellness needs of STHS students, providing a range of services including crisis support, individual and group therapy, and other therapeutic interventions. Our center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., conveniently located on the STHS campus.
To access services, students can be referred through a collaborative process with STHS staff and school counselors. Students interested in receiving support can speak with their individual school counselor, who can help initiate the referral to the Wellness Center. We also welcome drop-ins before and after school, as well as during lunch for brief check-ins or to discuss the referral process.
If you’re interested in a referral for your student, please contact their school counselor for guidance. We’re excited to serve the STHS community this school year and look forward to contributing to a healthy, supportive environment for all students!

Hello, my name is Margarita Aguirre. I am a second year Graduate program student and have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. I am a bilingual mental health Clinician working with students with Medi-Cal in the STHS and STMS Wellness Centers. I've had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and adults across various settings. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the challenges individuals face and strengthened my ability to provide meaningful support and interventions.

Hello, I am Mikella Doane, a Mental Health Advocate for Diamond Valley Elementary in Alpine County, STHS, and STMS! I was born (and somewhat raised) in South Lake Tahoe California. I have been working at SCFS since November 2024, and have grown a passion for working in school based mental health. I am a recent college graduate from UC Davis (go Aggies!) with my bachelors in psychology and minoring in human development and sociology. I am so excited to continue my education in the field, and become a Mental Health Clinician. I eventually plan to obtain my Doctorate in Psychology, and someday teach psychology to college students and future Therapists and Clinicians.

Hello! My name is Jessica and I am the Clinical Supervisor for the Wellness Centers in the South Lake Tahoe and Alpine areas through Sierra Child and Family Services. I have 7 years of experience working in community-based and school-based settings providing therapeutic services to students and families. I enjoy being part of a support team focused on helping students and families live their happiest, healthiest lives.
