General Enrollment Information and Forms

Welcome to Lake Tahoe Unified School District!
Below you will find enrollment guidelines and related information.  

LTUSD schools include:
South Tahoe High School (Grades 9-12)
South Tahoe Middle School (Grades 6-8)
Meyers Elementary School (Grades K-5)
Sierra House Elementary School (Grades K-5)
Tahoe Valley Elementary School (Grades TK-5)
Bijou Elementary School (Two-way Bilingual Immersion Grades TK-5)
Elevated Digital Learning Academy (Online school Grades 6-12)
Mt. Tallac Continuation High School (Grades 11-12)


Elementary Enrollment Guidelines:
Transportation is provided to the elementary school designated by your residence address. To learn more about which transportation zone you reside in, please visit the following interactive map and enter your address by clicking on the search icon:  LTUSD Elementary Transportation Zone Map

Criteria for acceptance into an elementary school:

  1. Students/Families wishing to attend their transportation zoned school will have first enrollment priority.
  2. Students/Families who have a sibling attending an elementary school and already accepted based on space availability,  will be next on the priority list.
  3. Students/Families requesting a school outside of their transportation zone will be admitted, based on space available.  A lottery will be used if necessary.
  4. We will strive to keep families with multiple elementary age children in the same school.

Please note: families requesting a school outside of their transportation zone may not receive acceptance confirmation until June 30. Mid-year enrollments are based on space available and are not guaranteed their zoned school.

3. Proof of Immunizations per California Law
4. Proof of Residency (See Below for Nevada Residents Working in CA)

TK/Kindergarten: Additional enrollment requirements apply to Kindergarten/Transitional Kindergarten

Grades 6-12 Enrollment Guidelines:
Transportation is provided to the Middle and High Schools from within the school district boundary. See "Transportation" under the "Parents" tab at ltusd.org for bus route information. 
The list of enrollment requirements is as follows:

1. Completed Online Enrollment at this link
2. Birth Certificate
3. Proof of Immunizations per California Law
4. Proof of Residency (See Below for Nevada Residents Working in CA)
5. Transcript from previous school (Grades 7-12)


Transferring Between Districts ("Interdistrict Transfer" with Residency Outside of the School District Boundary) Transfer and Residency Based on Parent Employment (Allen Bill)

*In addition to normal enrollment procedures, parents residing in Nevada and working at least 10 hours per week within District boundaries, must complete the LTUSD Nevada Student Transfer Application form and the Declaration for District Residency Based on Parent Employment and provide a copy of a paycheck stub from the California employer in order to establish Residency Based on Parent Employment.

Caregivers

For students living within LTUSD boundaries with a Caregiver - Use of this affidavit is authorized by Part 1.5 (commencing with Section 6550) of Division 11 of the California Family Code.

Students experiencing homelessness or temporary housing
